Golte Ski Resort
Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful ski centres in Slovenia, Golte is a small but enjoyable resort with mainly forested beginner - intermediate trails. Car access is possible by local road to the cable car station in Zekovec. Some 12kms of pistes await you as you arrive at Medvedjak 8 mintues later. Several chairlifts and skilifts run from the hotel over well groomed slopes below. The clear wide pistes are great for beginner skiers snowboarders alike. Golte and the surrounding area also attracts numerous cross country ski and ski touring enthusiasts
Reached by gondola from the valley floor, Krvavec has a range of slopes to suit all abilities. Artifical snow-making and a top altitude of just less than 2000 m allow for a very good snow record and a season that usually runs from mid-December to late April. Continual improvement to lift and resort infrastructure has meant reduced queuing times over recent years. Skiing Krvavec is an extremely enjoyable experience, with beautiful views of the Julian Alps and across the hills south to Ljubljana and beyond.
Skiing here is mostly orientated towards families and beginners, with easy access to high quality nursery slopes and blue runs a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the resort. A chairlift takes you over the mountain to the long, steep Podkoren pistes, location for World Cups races which appeal to intermediate and advanced skiers. With a relatively low elevation its worth checking the snow reports first, although artificial snowmaking means almost guaranteed snow between late December and late March.
Vogel is one of Slovenia's best all round resorts, offering a superb beginner / family ski experience in a beautiful position overlooking stunning Lake Bohinj. It also offers some harder and longer pistes to suit more experienced skiers, as well as potential outstanding off-piste. It is one of Slovenia's higher resorts with slopes up to 1800 m and its position as one of the first mountains in the range ensures consistently good snow, with skiing usually until late April, even without artificial snow making.
